RETURN, REFUND, AND EXCHANGE POLICY

Our commitment

Frame Republic glasses are made to order by our in-house Doctors of Optometry. Every prescription is verified and every pair is inspected before it ships. We stand behind the quality of our work — and we're transparent about where our responsibility begins and ends.

Prescription eyewear — custom orders

Because prescription eyewear is fabricated specifically to your individual prescription, completed Rx orders cannot be returned for a refund once lenses have been cut and fitted. This is standard practice in the optical industry and reflects the custom nature of every pair we make.

However we understand that buying glasses online requires trust. Here is exactly what we cover and what we don't:

What we cover — no questions asked:

We will remake your lenses at no charge if:

  • The lens power does not match the prescription you submitted
  • The axis or cylinder values were cut incorrectly
  • The optical centers are outside acceptable tolerance
  • The lens or coating has a manufacturing defect
  • The frame has a defect present at the time of delivery

Contact us at hello@framerepublic.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the issue. We may ask for photos to evaluate the concern. Qualifying remakes are processed within our standard 3–5 business day production time.

What we cannot cover:

Prescription changes after fabrication. If you visit your eye doctor after receiving your Frame Republic glasses and receive an updated prescription, we are unable to remake your lenses at no charge. The glasses were made correctly to the prescription you provided at the time of your order. Prescription changes — whether due to natural vision change, a new examination technique, or a revised clinical finding — represent a new prescription and would require a new order.

We strongly recommend ordering from a current, unexpired prescription dated within the past 12 months. If you have any uncertainty about whether your prescription is current, we encourage you to schedule an eye exam before placing your order.

Incorrect prescription information submitted by the customer. Frame Republic fabricates lenses based on the prescription values provided by the customer. If incorrect values were submitted — including transposed numbers, incorrect sign (plus vs minus), or incomplete information — and the lenses were cut to those values accurately, we are not responsible for the resulting prescription error. Please review your prescription values carefully before submitting.

Lens adaptation discomfort. Adjusting to a new prescription is a normal part of wearing glasses. See our Lens Adaptation Guide below for what to expect. Adaptation symptoms alone are not grounds for a remake. If you have concerns that your prescription may be incorrect rather than simply new, contact us and we will review your order.

Non-prescription items

Plano (non-Rx) glasses including blue light non-Rx frames may be returned within 30 days of receipt in original unworn condition with original packaging. Contact us at hello@framerepublic.com to initiate a return. Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Exchanges

We are happy to exchange frames for a different style or size within 30 days of receipt provided lenses have not yet been cut. If lenses have already been fabricated, exchanges are evaluated case by case — contact us at hello@framerepublic.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The fastest way to get a different frame is to return the original (if eligible) and place a new order.

Damages in transit

Please inspect your order upon receipt. If your glasses arrive damaged due to shipping, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and packaging. We will work with the carrier and replace your order at no charge.

Sale items and gift cards

We do not accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Refund processing

For eligible non-Rx returns, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the return. Please allow additional time for your bank to process the credit.
